It is an insulating tape (self-bonding). Silicon High Voltage High-Temperature tape is used in MV cable terminations to provide an insulating, anti-tracking, and UV-resistant surface over the cable insulation and seal against moisture ingress. Silicon High Voltage High-Temperature tape amalgamates when stretched and applied over its own layers. It applies a positive pressure over the substrate.
