PCA Technologies meets the unique technical and environmental challenges of some of the India’s largest wind farms, Transformer, RMU & GIS Medium Voltage connections by providing a complete switchgear connect solution.
The Challenge
Conventional indoor / outdoor equipment terminations have some limitations such as;
- Bulkier cable box > Foot-print
- Unscreened connections > Safety issue
- Crimped connections > Reliability issue, dependent on jointer’s skills
A customised approach is needed to address this technical challenge and ensure the reliable electrical performance of the equipment.
The Solution
PCA Technologies brings a complete package of customised switchgear connect solutions that meets the unique technical requirements of the equipments like Transformer, RMU, GIS panel
- Screened Separable Connectors and Coupling Connectors
PCA’s T Shaped Screened Separable Connectors adapts easily to the customer’s cable type and size. Its compact design and the flexibility of its insulating components facilitated the installation of the connectors, reducing installation time and errors. These are available for 630A & 1250A, up to 800 sq.mm, from 11 kV to 36 kV.
- Screened Separable Connectors with Surge Arrestors
In order to protect the electrical equipment from costly outages caused by overvoltage, we provide separable connectors with surge arrestors. The excellent short circuit performance and margin protection of these connectors prevent the equipment from failure. - Installation Training
To reduce failure risks caused by incorrect installation, PCA’s local team offers a detailed
on-site product training which will ensure a smooth installation process of the separable connectors.
The Outcome
- Compact design reduced the foot-print of switchgears cable box.
- Touch-proof design eliminated safety issues.
- Mechanical shear-bolt connectors improved reliability of the system.
- One stop solution for supply, training, installation & commissioning.
